Campus film series has new changes The Curricular Enrichment Film Series at the White library has moved from Fridays to 3 p.m. Wednesdays. Merry Bortz, professor of learning resources at the White Library, said having the films on Fridays was a hardship on students who were not on campus. The series, which focuses on using movies as an educational supplement, has been at Del Mar since 2000. Its main purpose is to give students a different perspective to study their subjects from. 60th CAIN National Art Show on display through April 17
Students and staff mingled in a promising crowd at the 60th annual CAIN National Art Show opening on Feb. 13. Photography, painting, and sculptures were displayed at the show juried by Tabitha Whitley. “Everybody shows up and we all participate,” said Art Professor Kerstin Dale. “It’s a fun event— it’s good for everybody. Everybody feels comfortable.” The show takes place in the Fine Arts Center on Del Mar’s Heritage Campus. Each year there is a different juror. Full-time police department focus on crime prevention
Del Mar College opened their first official police department in 2021 to create an establishment for on-campus law enforcement. Although DMC has security guards, having police officers on school grounds ensures that there will be first responders present in case of emergencies. Del Mar College Police Department regulates the security system to ensure a safe environment for students and staff. The police department offers various services to make students feel secure at school.
