Intramural sports offer many ways to stay active, be social and have fun this semester at several Del Mar campuses.
At Heritage Campus, stop by the Kinesiology building room KN202 on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:15-6:15 p.m. for Zumba classes. In addition, the gymnasium is open for recreational use from 2:30-5 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, and from 2:30-7 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Recreational activities in the gym include basketball, table tennis, and pickleball.
The Board Game Club will be hosting games every Tuesday from 12-3 p.m. and on Friday from 1-3 p.m. in the Aquatic Center room A101. Intramural Sports Director Carla Gamez-Vela added that they will be teaming up with the Board Game Club to have pizza and board games for lunch on Tuesday, Feb. 11 from noon to 3 p.m. in the Harvin Center cafeteria.
If none of those are a fit for you, try out some playing backyard sports with intramurals. There will be volleyball, soccer, and football, along with music, snacks, and giveaways from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mondays through Wednesdays throughout the semester at all three campuses. Games for backyard sports will also be held at the Oso Creek Campus on Mondays, the Windward Campus on Tuesdays and outside the Harvin Center at the Heritage Campus on Wednesdays.
All activities are free for students to enjoy, the only thing they will need is a valid Del Mar ID for the 2025 Spring semester. For more information or questions, stop by the intramural office right outside the Heritage Campus gymnasium or call (361) 698-1337 from 2:30-5 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays.
