The Del Mar College Counseling Center hosted Go Team Therapy Dogs at all campuses in preparation for finals season. The Go Team Therapy Dogs are a nonprofit organization whose mission is to have handler-dog teams offer relief, care and assistance to those in need. The dogs visited all Del Mar campuses from Nov. 28-30, allowing all students to interact with the dogs and participate in the activities. “The dogs help decrease anxiety, stress, relax your heart rate, which provides more of a relaxing atmosphere for the students,” said Go Team member Lisa Olmos. The Collaboratory celebrates its 1,000th student for October Title V STEM Collaboratory Tutoring Center has celebrated its 1,000th student for the month of October. Freshman Madysn Lira, the 1,000th student, regularly attends the tutoring center at least an hour every day for help for her chemistry class. Students looking to keep fit do not need to look farther than the gym or their own neighborhoods. Intramurals plans a variety of sports and games for students this semester including football, soccer, basketball, Ultimate Frisbee, Giant Connect 4 and the 100 Mile Challenge. “We want students to be more involved in our sporting events. We host all sorts of fun events and they are free,” said kinesiology major Hannah Reynolds.
