Zumba classes heat up at Del Mar

The Kinesiology Department is hosting Zumba and yoga classes for all Del Mar College employees. Classes are offered weekly and are a part of the department’s efforts to increase health and wellness among DMC employees. “We’re trying to get people to be more aware of their lifestyle and to get them moving more,” said Judy Phillips, Kinesiology Department chairwoman. “Healthy employees make for a better work environment.” According to Phillips, for the program to continue, more people must attend the classes. Freeing minds at Del Mar College

To celebrate Yoga Awareness Month, the Del Mar College Counseling Center and Kinesiology Department will be hosting free yoga classes every Friday in September. Classes are open to DMC faculty, staff, students and the community, and will be held in the Kinesiology Building in Room 202 from 12:30-1:30 pm. “Yoga has physical, spiritual, mental and emotional benefits. It stretches and strengthens the body, centers the spirit, clears the mind and infuses the soul.
