Improv troupe hosted performance in Finley Theater

Laughter rang out throughout the theater as they watched Del Mar students perform improv to their show, “Whadja Call Me??”  The performance was hosted by Del Mar alumnus Nathan “Nate” Ray Clark, who worked with the students for a week in developing their improv skills. While volunteering can look great on a résumé, it also gives you the opportunity to become aware of small organizations that may need your help. One organization, The Miracle League of Corpus Christi, is looking for volunteers to help set up events but to also show support for the players. The Miracle League is a nonprofit organization with a goal to provide a safe and fun environment for those with physical and mental disabilities to play baseball. Students show off skills learned at Skills Rodeo

Constant winds waved the American flags mounted upon electrical poles, while family members, electrical line workers and observant guests strained their necks to watch the four Del Mar college students perform their tasks at the first ever Del Mar’s “Skills Rodeo.” The four students, Andrew “Blake” Galvan, Christopher Luzania, Rodolfo “Rudy” Landeros and Gabriel Garcia demonstrated for judges the skills and knowledge they had obtained from their 10-week electrical lineworker program before graduation. Del Mar SGA votes to strike against Texas Anti-DEI bill

The Student Government Association plans to voice its opposition against House Bill 1006 in their upcoming Texas Junior College SGA annual conference. The theme of this upcoming conference is “Advocating for Students’ Rights,” and HB 1006 is expected to be a focused topic. The bill was open to discussion by General Officer Alberto Martinez at the last SGA meeting. Martinez sought to get the majority to vote against the bill that was initiated by State Rep. Student Government Association seeks new leaders 

Meetings held on the third Wednesday of each month in the Harvin Center The Student Government Association is currently holding meetings for the 2023 spring semester. Students are encouraged to participate in the association to learn more about how they can be involved with activities and services around campus.   The association had two meetings since the start of the semester, with their primary agenda to motivate newcomers to become an active member.  “We inform the students about current student volunteer opportunities, club meetings, services available, and upcoming events,” Sofia Jimenez, the current acting SGA president, said of the importance…
