DMC offers new aid application

The DMC Foundation is now offering a new application that should help with some of the stress of applying for multiple scholarships. There is now a new application available to all current students attending Del Mar College, high school seniors in the DMC service area and all people planning to attend DMC in fall 2023 and/or winter 2024.  The foundation has awarded over $1.5 million to approximately 1,000 students for the 2022-23 academic year. “Scholarships provide an amazing opportunity for students to focus on their academics instead of worrying about how they will pay for college. African heritage on campus

Del Mar College invited African Soul International to visit the Heritage Campus to display their talents and share their knowledge of traditional African dances for Black History Month.  African Soul International’s mission is simple. “We present and preserve the best of African Culture through the dances, songs, rhythms, and stories of the African and African-American experience,” according to the group’s website. This dance group has participated in and alongside performances of some of the top names in the music industry, including Beyonce and Stevie Wonder. Library resources still available during work

Windward, Oso Creek facilities remain open for students, staff and faculty With the ongoing construction to the White Library on the Heritage Campus, some students may be left trying to figure out how to use the library’s resources. All services are still available at Del Mar via other offices and locations.  Cody Gregg, dean of Learning Resources, said the renovations are expected to be finished by the end of this year. “As of now the projected timetable is on schedule and has not seen any delays,” Gregg said of work being done to the building, which was built in 1969.…
