Workshops help with admissions, aid, more

The Student Enrollment Center will be providing free “Del Mar Delivered” workshops to give students assistance with any admissions and financial aid questions. If students need help with any applications, testing, or any kinds of questions campus representatives will there to provide assistance. The workshops will be on Dec. 5 from 4 to 7 p.m. in room 127 located in the Harvin Center on the East Campus. Dental Hygiene Clinic selling Whitestrips

The Del Mar College Dental Hygiene Clinic will be raising money by selling Crest Whitestrips on until Dec. 7. They will be selling the Whitestrips $45 for a box of 84 strips. The clinic will prefer the exact cash amount for payments for a 21- day supply. If students want to support the clubs fundraiser or simply whiten their teeth they can purchase them at the Dental Hygiene Clinic located on the West Campus, HS1 rm 123.

Art Association to sell crafts at ‘Be-Bop-Bowl’

The Del Mar College Student Art Association will be selling hand made crafts just in time for the holidays. The “Be-Bop-Bowl” is the club’s annual holiday fundraiser, where they will be selling affordable crafts on December 5 from 11:00am-2:30pm on the first floor of the Harvin Center. All of the earnings will go to support SAA projects such as community service, student art exhibitions and portfolio competition awards. If you know someone who enjoys hand crafted gifts swing by the “Be-Bop Bowl”.

The Collaboratory celebrates its 1,000th student for October Title V STEM Collaboratory Tutoring Center has celebrated its 1,000th student for the month of October. Freshman Madysn Lira, the 1,000th student, regularly attends the tutoring center at least an hour every day for help for her chemistry class. Therapy dogs help students relieve stress ahead of midterms With midterms here and stress building up, the Del Mar College Counseling Center decided to team up with Paws Up Inc. to put on a two-hour event called “PAWsitively Prevent Midterm Meltdown.” “We’re giving the students a chance to relax and enjoy the therapy dogs,” lead counselor Rita Hernandez said at the Oct. 10 event.
