Students at Martin Middle School got lessons from a legendary teacher last month. Actor Pepe Serna visited the school for an improv lesson/workshop on March 26 demonstrating acting techniques, along with teaching some of the skills he’s learned to become a better actor. Serna walked the hallways and taught a full classroom of over 50 students, staff, and faculty members. Colors fly at Del Mar’s spring Color Run

The Del Mar College Color Run is an annual pre-spring break tradition at the Heritage Campus, inviting students, staff, and faculty to come together for a day of high-energy activity. The 2026 Color Run on March 4 saw participants navigate a specific route around campus while being blasted with vibrant colors and running through foam bubbles. Serving up tasty eats at the SOUPer bowl

Hungry patrons got to sample soups and appreciate handmade art at the annual Souper Bowl fundraiser at the Art Center of Corpus Christi on Feb. 19. Held annually on the Thursday following the Super Bowl, the Souper Bowl has ticket holders selecting a one-of-a-kind bowl made by local artists and tasting a variety of homemade soups from restaurants while touring the art on display before voting on the favorite soup of the night. ICE protests draw many throughout the city

People came from around the Coastal Bend to join a peaceful protest on Jan. 31 in Water’s Edge Park on Shoreline Boulevard in downtown Corpus Christi. Event organizer KJ Alaniz said they wanted to protest ICE’s presence in their community and make known their opinion of the U.S. government for allowing it. “The idea to host another protest came when I saw ICE sightings/kidnappings becoming more rampant in our area. Second Viking Fest a success

Crowds turned out for the second annual Viking Fest on Saturday, Nov. 15 on Del Mar’s  Windward Campus. The event hosted the 4th annual  Dia De Los Muertos Welding Competition, the Viking 5K run, as well as a special music performance from Kat Hasty, demos for programs offered on campus and a carnival with food and prizes for best beard, best braids, and best overall Viking costume contests.
