Samantha Huerta/Staff Writer The third annual South Texas Financial Aid Fair will take place Friday, February 24th at the Channel 3 KIII studio and parking lot at 5002 South Padre Island Drive (SPID). The fair will be hosted by KIII news studio and local Coastal Bend colleges; Del Mar College, Texas A&M University Corpus Christi, Texas A&M University Kingsville, Texas A&M College Station and Coastal Bend College.   Heather McFarland/ Staff Writer  OPINION On the first day of semester, I sat in Dr. Paul Gottemoller’s government class listening to his explanation of the syllabus. Thirty minutes into the details, a student walked into the room and sat down. After another ten minutes Gottemoller asked, “Are there any questions?” The tardy student raised his hand and said, “I was late can you go over what I missed?” Gottemoller looked at him and said, “Not my problem.” The student became visibly red. Brittni Young/Web Editor Dr. Paul Gottemoller Political Science Program Coordinator Being raised in a family passionately involved in politics, Dr. Gottemoller found his life calling to include become involved in the world of politics. Despite the idea of becoming a politician beginning to fade, his fascination with the field still burns bright. The professor continued his education in political science, graduating with his PhD from Southern Illinois University. Now, into his third year at Del Mar College, Dr. Gottemoller continues to shares his passion and love for politics with his students.

Third return for Tiki Murder Mystery Dinner

Paul Lyman/Staff Writer The Del-Mar Drama Program is putting on its’ third annual Murder Mystery Dinner Theater show. The Director of the show is assistant professor Carl Yowell. The murder mystery is a special fundraiser by the department and will have four shows taking place in February and March. Professor Yowell says, “Over the years, the Drama Program has periodically produced plays as fundraisers for the program. This is one of them. It’s also a different experience for the students participating onstage and backstage to have dinner service integrated into a live theater production,” said Yowell.
