Del Mar College has made available for incoming and returning students an application for DMC Foundation Scholarships.
According to the DMC website, the deadline for the application is April 30 without exception.
The application can be found at http://www.delmar.edu/scholarships/.
To be eligible to apply for the Foundation scholarships, students must fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) which the U.S. Department of Education accepts to determine eligibility.
The application can be found at fafsa.gov.edu. Another requirement to be eligible for the scholarships is a cumulative GPA of 2.0.
“The sooner students get their application in the better because there are always new opportunities for scholarships, and scholarships are given out to students on a first serve basis,” said Mary Elizabeth Whited, administrative assistant at DMC’s Center for Economic Development.
When students are awarded scholarships, they will be notified by mid-July on the amount of their award and how to claim their scholarship. The DMC Foundation Scholarships range from $200-$2,000 for the academic year and students are not limited to just one scholarship.
“I didn’t even know about the Foundation scholarships,” said DMC student Victoria Terrell. “But if there was more information about it, it would be helpful for students.”
