The books will be donated to the Lichtenstein Center for Early Learning at Del Mar College.

The center, at the corner of Baldwin and Staples, serves nearly 60 children. Many DMC students and employees use the center for child care.

“Most of our teachers are graduates from the Del Mar college program but we also serve as a model for the community of how early learning should be approached and adapted,” said Monique Abshire, center coordinator.

Enrollment priority is given to DMC students, faculty and staff, though families in the Corpus Christi community are welcome.

“We are licensed for fifty- eight children for enrollment and our kids are our priority for enrollment,” Abshire said. “We have Del Mar students doing internships and practice of studies here at the Center for Early Learning. Not only do we have students, we have teachers here as well.”

Books may be dropped off at the Foghorn lab in Room 215 in the Harvin Center, East Campus.
