In honor of Women’s History Month, Del Mar College students will be putting on a display called “Trailblazing Women.” The annual event will highlight the numerous women who have positively affected society from various fields.

For “Trailblazing Women,” English students will present short descriptions of women from a wide variety of fields spanning from local to national significance who have impacted the lives of people everywhere.

Professor Barbara Craig, who guided the students, started the yearly celebration in 1982, and every year in March has done something to highlight women’s accomplishments. Craig and the students of the English 2341 class, Forms of Literature, want Del Mar students and staff viewing the display to understand “we are trying to break the silence that often surrounds the achievements of women.”

“They deserve recognition when often their stories never get into our hands,” Craig said.

The display will be available March 2-30 on the first floor of the Coles Building. For more information, contact Craig at 698-1428 or bcraig@delmar.edu.
