When one has been single for a long time, we tend to grow more independent. The dependence for someone else becomes distinct and dependence on you changes our way of thinking. Some people can’t stand to be “alone” and give in to relying on someone for happiness.
It’s hard to tell if being in a relationship is good or bad, depending on one’s goals and tendencies. The outcome that is destined to be eventually reveals itself, all in God’s plan. There is someone out there for everybody but only if finding that someone happens.
Everything happens all in God’s timing and we must not take matters in our own hands. Let God take full control over what is to come. Seeking what we want that isn’t in our path could lead to distraction of what is meant to happen. Give God the controls and let him work his miracles.
Act 1:7 (NLT) says, “The Father alone had the authority to those dates and times, and they are not for you to know.” Jesus told this to the apostles that were with him when they grew curious about when Israel was going to be restored and free. Rather than ruining the surprise, being patient in what the Lord has in store for you is worth the wait. Rushing it would destroy the beauty of God’s work.
Being influenced by worldly things like online dating apps and Christian Mingle does not make things better. Perhaps taking a walk in the park, while walking your dog and then suddenly you run into someone unexpectedly is something that takes us by surprise. It might sound like a typical Hallmark movie, but it is something that does not happen often anymore, which makes it special.
Lamentations 3:25-26 says, “The Lord is good to those whose hope in Him, to the one who seeks Him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.” Patience is key for the goodness of God. Let God have full control of your life. Have faith in him and the goodness of God will do wonders. No matter what situation, God is there every step of the way, as he knows the outcome of our lives.
