Students can apply for scholarships online Feb. 1

All Del Mar College students and prospective students are encouraged to apply for scholarships through the Del Mar College Foundation. Students can apply for scholarships as early as possible, even before admission. Many students have quite a few questions about the DMC Foundation Scholarship process and application, including who should apply, how to qualify and how to submit an application. Scholarship information, instructions and access to the on- line application will be available on the Del Mar College Scholarships website beginning Feb. 1. Math Whiz has some tricks up his sleeve

Arthur Benjamin, a professor of mathematics and a magician, is set to return to campus Feb. 5. Google  Arthur Benjamin is one of the world’s fastest lightning calculators, and he will be demonstrating and explaining his abilities to DMC students. Benjamin has combined his two loves to create a dynamic presentation called “Mathemagics,” where he demonstrates and explains his secrets for performing rapid mental calculations faster than a calculator. Benjamin has appeared on many television and radio programs, including the “To- day” show, CNN, “The Colbert Report” and National Public Radio. Counseling sessions available at SSC

It’s easy to feel lost or overwhelmed when entering college for the first time or returning after a long break. Students face a whole new world and often don’t know where to turn for quick answers. With the Student Success Center’s Success-on-the-Go sessions, finding helpful information has never been easier. DMC Foundation opens up online scholarship Jan. 15

  Contributed photo/Del Mar College The Del Mar College Foundation has awarded more than $ 1,4 million to 219 students in the 2015-16 academic year. The Del Mar College Foundation will open up its online scholarship application on Jan. 15, 2016. Scholarships will be awarded for the 2016-17 academic year. Students are encouraged to apply despite qualification status for financial aid. For the 2015-16 academic year, more than $1.4 million was awarded to 219 students. “Every year we get new scholarships.
