High Heels for Hope

The 3rd Annual High Heels for Hope Fashion Show will be taking place on November 9, 2011 from 6:00-9:00 PM at Mansion Royal in Corpus Christi. The fashion show is to benefit The Women’s Shelter of South Texas.  There will be 7 boutiques and salons including Uptown Girl, Salon/Salon, and Levu and over 10 other businesses will be set-up to interact with guests. Metro Ministries helps the community

Debbi Lynch/ Staff Writer   Metro Ministries (MM), a charitable organization providing services to the homeless, opened in October 1982, and has since added Gabbard Clinic, open on Tuesdays and Thursdays. MM also created Loaves and Fishes, which serves two meals a day at two shelters – one for women and children and the other for men. MM provides bus tokens for job interviews or doctor’s appointments, hygiene packages for the homeless that contain a toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, socks, underwear, condoms and a brochure for the Coastal Bend Aids Foundation. Domestic Violence Awareness for students

If there is a Protective Order issued against a family member or significant other in a dating situation, students are advised to bring a copy to the Environmental Health, Safety and Risk Management Office located on the East Campus. It was largely the inspiration of Fred Hill, a Philadelphia Eagles football player whose daughter was undergoing treatment of leukemia. Bikers unite to battle breast cancer

Bikers Battling Breast Cancer (BBBC) is a nonprofit organization that supports people with the treacherous disease. Rev Run comes to Bay Area Fellowship
