Time to get muddy in Run Amuck 5K race

The fourth annual 5K Run Amuck mud run is set for Sept. 27 in Corpus Christi. The event challenges participants with an array of muddy and wet obstacles, including the Army mud crawl, sewer pipe challenge and a puddle run while being sprayed with water.

Awards will be given for the top three individuals in all age groups (there is a kids 1K mud run for the little ones) and for best overall, best couple and best group costumes. All participants will receive a medal and a T-shirt. There will be free music, food and water for participants and beer for purchase with I.D.
FB8The cost is $55 per adult through Sept. 24 and $65 from Sept. 25 through race day. Kids cost $25, must be at least 6 years old and will only be admitted with a signed waiver. If you want to contribute but not get dirty you can be a muddy buddy for $20 and will receive a T-shirt as a thank you. Spectators get in free. To register online go to www.jlcc.org/?nd=mudrun.

This event, to be held at Gulf Coast Racing, at 5302 Leopard St., is organized by the Junior League of Corpus Christi Inc. JLCC is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. This run is a fundraiser for the group.
