Collegiate High School’s Junior Politicians Club held their first multi-party public forum in the Retama Room in the Harvin Center on Oct. 22.
Three members of the Democratic, Republican and Green parties gave a basic understanding of each ideology to help the public understand what each party is about. Audience members were able to interact with the party members and give their opinions on the issues that were discussed in the forum.
Collegiate High School’s Junior Politicians Club hosted their first multi-party forum in the Harvin Center to help better inform students.
The club’s intentions for this forum were to engage civic-minded students so they become active in the democratic process.
Attendees of each party included Laura Palmer of the Texas Green Party, Michael Bergsma from the Nueces County Republican Party and Teresa Klein from the Nueces County Democratic Party.
