“Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see.”
— Hebrews 11:1
Before you start college, you think about what to expect, what your goals are and set standards. You prepare yourself and you begin to feel anxious as the semester approaches.
“By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God’s command, that what we now see did not come from anything that we can be seen.”
— Hebrews 11:3
We have faith that our expectations will be met but we do not know exactly what it would be like. We know and can aim to accomplish what we set ourselves up for but we may never know exactly how it would be.
“It was by faith that Noah built a large boat to save his family from the flood. He obeyed God, who warned him about things that had never happened before.”
— Hebrews 11:7
Noah trusted in what God was telling him to do and in the end, through many trials and doubts, Noah received what God promised him: safety.
We must never lose our faith in things that we put faith into. God doesn’t just want us to lose faith and trust in ourselves but most importantly, faith and trust in him. Having faith also builds our confidence towards the path that we are lead to walk on.
Many people go through different obstacles and trials and they too have faith. The enemy will always try to bring us down, take over our minds, and send us into a place of darkness because that is what the enemy feeds on. Don’t ever lose faith and trust. Don’t ever lose sight of God’s faithfulness.
“All these people earned a good reputation because of their faith, yet none of them received all that God had promised. For God had something better in mind for us, so that they would not reach perfection without us.”
— Hebrews 11:39-40
Within our doubts comes strength to move forward in hopes of something better. When we get that bad grade a test or when we have to retake a classes because we failed to accomplish it, we try again and have faith that we will do better next time. We don’t give up. We don’t lose faith in ourselves. We move forward and push to strive farther than what we set ourselves for. God is always making something better for us.
We may have times when the things we hope and pray for might not happened when we want it or we may never receive but don’t be discouraged. Continue to have faith and be hopeful. Do not fear and be taken back.
