Halloween came early to Del Mar College with the Spooktacular event’s 10th anniversary. Mental and physical health organizations sent representatives to provide students with information about each hospital, insurance, and so much more. There were vendors providing information on women’s and men’s health, TRIO, the Student Support Service, the South Coastal Area Health Education Center, and more. Additionally, a small office offered free flu shots for students. Representatives were dressed up in costumes and giving out treats. The most recognizable vendor was the Corpus Christi Regional Transportation Authority, with Jeremy Sirio dressed as a man being attacked by an octopus.…
Vikings had the opportunity to create their own career vision board on Feb 8 in the Harvin Center on Heritage Campus. The event was hosted by Center for Career Development, who provided all the craft materials as well as snacks, coffee, and music. Vision boards are a popular way of putting your dreams on paper. By creating a physical representation of your goals and aspirations, you will have a constant reminder of what you are working towards in academics, in your career, or just life in general. ‘Circle Mirror Transformation’ continues this weekend Del Mar College drama students are taking the stage after over a year of no productions due to COVID-19. “Circle Mirror Transformation” by Annie Baker, which opened Nov. 5, is about a group of individuals who find themselves experiencing heartbreaks and breakthroughs during a six-week session of a community center drama class. During the span of the six weeks audience members grow with the characters through each of their unique journeys. The play highlights the impact others have on someone’s life even in just a short time frame. The show continues at 7:30 p.m.…
