Corpus Christi hosted the Harlem Globetrotters on February 5, 2024, at the American Bank Center, as one of the many stops on their world tour. Fans got to experience a unique game of basketball and even got to participate alongside the Globetrotters. The Harlem Globetrotters took the court against their lifelong rivals, the hapless Washington Generals. While the Generals played their part with vigor in the in this pre-determined pageant, they were, of course, no match for the Globetrotters’ extraordinary trick shots, exceptional ball handling skills, and overall athleticism. The championship game came after a two-game winning streak by the Thunder as Swaggy G were coming off a two-game rest period. In the end, rest won over momentum.
