The Del Mar College Student Art Association will be selling hand made crafts just in time for the holidays. The “Be-Bop-Bowl” is the club’s annual holiday fundraiser, where they will be selling affordable crafts on December 5 from 11:00am-2:30pm on the first floor of the Harvin Center. All of the earnings will go to support SAA projects such as community service, student art exhibitions and portfolio competition awards. If you know someone who enjoys hand crafted gifts swing by the “Be-Bop Bowl”.

DMC hosts screening followed by Q&A with filmmakers Del Mar College shared the story of four women and their struggle to make it in the male-dominated mariachi industry for Women’s History Month. The March 28 of the award winning documentary “Las Tesoros de San Antonio: A Westside Story” took place in the White Library and was followed by a Q&A with the director Jorge Sandoval and editor/producer Robb Garcia. “The project was a beautiful and inspiring experience,” Sandoval said of the seven years he spent making the film. Students discuss, celebrate Constitution Day on campus
Tera Elwell / Web editor Sept. 17 was National Constitution Day and the Del Mar College Student Government Association celebrated by hosting “Free Speech and Civility” in the Harvin Center, complete with free pizza, soda and a welcoming environment for students, faculty and staff to voice their opinions on chosen subjects. In honor of Constitution Day, all educational institutions receiving federal funding are required to hold an educational program pertaining to the U.S. Constituion.
