The Branch Academy Chargers earned a 47-36 victory over the Collegiate High Royals in an early college competitive basketball game hosted by Intramural sports on Wednesday, April 2 in the Heritage Campus gymnasium. David Zamarripa and Maximiliano Gonzalez led the way for the Chargers by scoring consistently and playing heavy minutes. The game was four 10-minute quarters with official referees and rules. Mondays and Wednesdays are table tennis nights in the Gym on the Heritage Campus. As of now participation is scarce. Roy Moya, interim Intramural director, said it has been difficult to complete the league because many of the competitors have been too busy with work or have chosen to attend outside table tennis tournaments rather than continue to participate in the league. Because of this, the current table tennis nights are non-competitive matches that are more for enjoyment. New semester brings additional volleyball, basketball offerings If you’ve been wanting to get active and meet new people but just can’t find time during the day, Del Mar College Intramurals has your answer. This semester they will be offering both volleyball and basketball at night for students who have work or are in class during the usual afternoon competitions.
