Backyard Games expands for spring
Intramurals has begun for the 2024 spring semester. In case you missed the registration date for the 150 Mile Bike Challenge, 100 Mile Walk/Run Challenge, or 40K Swim Challenge, there are plenty of upcoming virtual and in-person events to choose from. Popular events from past semesters will make a return such as the Skate Party and Color Run. The Skate Party will be held at Sk8tland on Feb. 22. Be sure to register by Feb. 20. Digging into Fall Intramurals
Devin Tyler / Staff writer Basketball, Football, Soccer and Baseball are some of the sports that one might hear about on a regular basis, but what about Pickleball, Turkey Trot and Corn Hole Toss? This semester, Del Mar College is continuing their fall intramural season. Most events will take place in the Kinesiology area of campus, which is the Gymnasium, East Campus track, Aquatics Complex, Shelby Torrance tennis court, and Racquetball court. Lets go skating: Del Mar College Sk8land Kick-off
Join Intramural Sports at Sk8Land, 10829 Leopard St., on Thursday, Feb. 20, from 7-9 p.m. for a night full of music, skating, and fun with fellow Del Mar students. Carla Gamez-Vela, Intramural Director, said that last year’s party at Sk8Land was a success and enjoyed by the students and she hopes to see the same result this time so that Intramural Sports can continue to host off-campus parties.
