The Culinary Arts Program Offers Gourmet Lunch Services to the Public at Del Mar College’s Oso Creek Campus.
Del Mar College’s Oso Creek Campus is offering a weekly lunch service to the public, prepared by students in the Culinary Arts Program.
The service takes place every Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., on the first floor of the Hospitality and Culinary Institute at the Oso Creek Campus.
According to Jennifer Sramek, Dean of Business, Entrepreneurship, and Health Sciences, “Meals are available to the first 100 guests on a limited basis, with a maximum of two to-go meals per person.”
Sramek said, “Each meal, priced at $12, includes an entrée, two sides, a soup or salad, dessert, and a choice of coffee, tea, water, or a specialty beverage. Payment is by debit/credit card only at the event.”
Students preparing these meals gain hands-on experience in key areas such as menu planning, budgeting, food preparation, and service, expanding their skills for future careers in the culinary environment.
The initiative serves as a practical learning opportunity for the culinary arts students, while providing a high-quality dining experience to the community.
