Fans of K-Pop from around the Coastal Bend gathered at Emerald Beach Hotel for “Euphoria: A K-Pop Exhibition” hosted by KP Vibes Entertainment in collaboration with the Texas State Museum of Asian Cultures and Education. The exhibition featured two rounds of dance plays, a lion dance performance, a performance by the Corpus Christi Taiko Club, and finally, a dance competition. Community turns out for museums’s Japan Day

The Texas State Museum of Asian Cultures and Education hosted it’s Japan Day festival during spring break, featuring the art and culture of the country on March 15. This is the second year that the museum has celebrated the event, which was implemented by Hitomi Sakakibara, the museum’s former Outreach Coordinator. The Texas State Museum of Asian Cultures and Education celebrated its annual Lunar New Year event on Saturday, Jan. 25 at its location at 1809 N. Chaparral St., four days before the actual Lunar New Year on Wednesday, Jan. 29. 50 Years of Texas Asian Museum History

On Sunday, Dec. 8, the Texas State Museum of Asian Cultures and Education will celebrate its 50th anniversary at 1809 N. Chaparral St. from noon to 5 p.m. The museum has come far in its 50 years, which all began with its founder Billie Trimble Chandler. Born in 1904, Billie Chandler enrolled at the University of Texas in Austin at 48 years old after going through a divorce after 26 years of marriage, where she enrolled alongside two of her children. Del Mar College Cain Art Gallery hosts photography exhibition

The Del Mar College Art Department held the opening reception for the “Texas Photography Society 32: The International Competition” exhibition on Friday, Sept. 20 in the Cain Art Gallery located at the Fine Arts Center in Del Mar’s Heritage Campus. The event was free and open to the public. It was an open-juried exhibition that featured 49 photographs that had been selected by Juror Maria Beatriz H. Del Mar Heritage Campus unveils International Photography Competition

The Del Mar College Art Department will be hosting the new art exhibit titled “Texas Photographic Society 32: The International Competition” for the Fall Semester at the Cain Art Gallery, with the opening reception from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Sep. 20. The open-juried exhibition features 49 photographs selected by juror Maria Beatriz H. Carrion, Assistant Curator of Photographs.
