Del Mar’s Student Government Association held its monthly meeting Oct. 20 via Teams. The meeting consisted of announcements for upcoming events, resources and club information. “At SGA meetings we update the students on any changes, on events, and on campus and community resources,” said Sofia Jimenez, president of group. Domestic violence focus of event

Speaking up, getting help is ‘not a sign of weakness,’ Del Mar counselor says  DMC wants its students to be safe on and off campus. It encourages students who experience abuse or suffer from mental issues to speak up and seek help. SGA to offer Safe Space training, certification

The Student Government Association and Coastal Bend Wellness Foundation will present a virtual event to give students an opportunity to obtain more information on the LGBTQIA+ community. DMC students and faculty are invited to tune into a three-hour Safe Zone training program course that will result in certification. The virtual event will be at 2 p.m. Oct. 19 and at 10 a.m. Oct. 22 via Microsoft Teams. Students only need to attend one of the meetings. SGA resumes virtual meetings

Since returning to campus, the Student Government Association continues to make students a priority. Whether students are taking courses face to face or online, meetings will be virtual until further notice. The first SGA meeting of the semester was held virtually Sept. 15 via Teams. E-mail announcements are sent in advance to students, where they can access meetings from a link.
