Monstars no match for Free Agents’ solid defense Carlos Gonzalez / Reporter After a long three weeks of a great 3v3 season of intramural basketball, the finals arrived. The championship took place over two days, starting Oct. 30. Twelve teams entered but only one would be crowned champion. To keep the tournament going for two days, Intramurals Director Ryan Murphy broke the bracket into two, an undefeated bracket and a loser bracket, so whichever team was knocked out they would still have their chance to play their way back for the gold. Texas A&M graduate, Ryan Murphy received the Intramural director position weeks before the start of the semester, but Murphy is no stranger to the Del Mar campus.

The participation for the event was very successful with some students still wanting to partake in the event but unfortunately could not, due to late registration.

The logo was unveiled and mounted next to the College seal in the North Lobby area of the Harvin Student Center. This Fall semester the Del Mar College Alumni Association is sponsoring a new event called “The Viking Games” to help continue the celebration for the new official Spirit Symbol logo. The Viking Activities will consist of multiple challenges from physical fitness, Flag Football Bowl and a Viking Carnival. Devin Tyler / Staff writer Basketball, Football, Soccer and Baseball are some of the sports that one might hear about on a regular basis, but what about Pickleball, Turkey Trot and Corn Hole Toss? This semester, Del Mar College is continuing their fall intramural season. Most events will take place in the Kinesiology area of campus, which is the Gymnasium, East Campus track, Aquatics Complex, Shelby Torrance tennis court, and Racquetball court.
