By Kira Hays / Reporter Four high school girlfriends with hopes and dreams as big as their crinoline skirts attend their long-awaited prom in “The Marvelous Wonderettes,” which opens March 7 at the Aurora Arts Theatre. This smash off-Broadway hit, set in 1958, takes the audience to the Springfield prom as Betty Jean, Cindy Lou, Missy and Suzy tell the tales of their lives and loves, all through song and dance. Cosmetology program has high success rates By Kelsey Heatley / Managing editor The cosmetology program at Del Mar College offers students hands-on experience in areas such as skin care, haircutting and chemical treatments. Since fall 2010, the program has had a perfect passing rate on the PSI Licensure certification written exam that is required by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. Sandra L. Garcia, an associate professor, said the passing rate has been good throughout the years.
