Financial Aid plans Mardi Gras Bash

Financial Aid Services will host its third annual Mardi Gras Bash from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 9 on the second floor of the Harvin Center.

The event will include bead throwing, king cake, prizes, New Orleans-style music and more. It also will be a great chance to get all your financial aid questions answered.

The Mardi Gras Bash serves as a great opportunity to se- cure your summer and fall financial aid and gather information on applying for scholarships for the 2016-17 academic year.

Leaks and subsequent mold growth in rooms in the Fine Arts Center has for months gone untreated and led to the closure of areas meant to serve the students.In addition, the heating and air conditioning system meant to prevent such problems is nearly four decades old. Students and Small Businesses: Paid internship opportunities available

Del Mar College students can turn their current jobs at local small businesses into higher-paying internship opportunities through Del Mar College’s Small Business Internship Program (SBIP).  SBIP is a resource available to all majors and small businesses that are in Nueces County with 49 employees or fewer. “The program is funded by the City of Corpus Christi to aid small businesses in business growth, economic development and increase job retention,” Program Coordinator Jacqueline Roberson said. “While also giving students the chance to gain hands-on experience in their field of study before inserting into the professional workforce.” According to Roberson, businesses…
