With the spring play “Measure for Measure” going into its second week of production, professor of drama Carl Yowell hopes students and faculty will come watch.

Phase one gets approved for the new Southside campus The Board of Regents unanimously voted to proceed with the South Side Campus Master Plan at its Aug. 14 meeting, giving the go-ahead for phase one of construction. The plan includes construction of the Main Building/Library, STEM (science building), Culinary Institute and Central Plant, along with a 1,200-space parking lot. The $101 million project would include about 280,000 square feet. The campus includes a community garden for the Culinary Institute, greenhouses for science programs and outdoor space for architecture programs. Collegiate High School’s Junior Politicians Club held their first multi-party public forum in the Retama Room in the Harvin Center on Oct. 22. Three members of the Democratic, Republican and Green parties gave a basic understanding of each ideology to help the public understand what each party is about. Audience members were able to interact with the party members and give their opinions on the issues that were discussed in the forum. For families, Spring Break is the time to have barbecues, take their kids camping or go to the beach. College students and minors consider it a week free of homework and tests, but full of fun, alcohol and parties. But now that Port Aransas has a Spring Break drinking curfew from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m., some of those people will have to either make other plans or accept the time frame limits. Students and beachgoers might consider this a terrible rule that prevents them from celebrating a week they look forward to every year. Why not celebrate the week…
