Positions are open for Student Government Association

The Student Government Association is looking to fill three officer positions as it starts the new semester.

The group, which serves as the voice for Del Mar College students, is looking for a historian, secretary and communications officer.

“Student Government Association is an organization that tries to initiate the change students want to see on campus,“ said Natasha Perez, SGA president.

All students who are enrolled at Del Mar College are members of the association.

The first SGA meeting will be at 12:30 p.m. Sept. 18 in the Harvin Center, Conference Room 1, at East Campus. Meetings are held on the third Wednesday of every month and alternate between East and West campus.

“Being a member of SGA and attending the meeting, you get to voice your concerns, ask questions, find out information about what’s going on on campus, the things that we are offering outside of classes and other opportunities for students that offer things like leadership development, professional development and community service,” Perez said.

For more information about the SGA and how to apply for the officer positions, visit the Student Leadership Office in Room 105 in the Harvin Center.
