Veterans to tell stories of Vietnam

War and Remembrance will feature Ram Chavez, a local decorated combat veteran, who will share his own experience with the war. “The Vietnam War had a great impact on the United States and the world including thousands in the Mexican-American community,” said DMC professor Derek Oden. “Hearing the accounts of local Vietnam veterans will undoubtedly deepen students’ understanding of the history of the conflict in Southeast Asia.” Oden, who teaches history, said he has had a…
