Del Mar College is inviting students to participate in the celebration of pride with a National Coming Out event on Oct. 15.
National Coming Out Day is an annual celebration that aims to shine focus on members of the LGBTQ+ community and their decisions to reveal their gender identities and sexual orientations with the general public.
The event will include food, prizes, music and a contest to choose the three best-dressed participants in pride apparel.
Attendees will hear from a variety of speakers who will talk about their own personal experiences.
The National Coming Out event will be from 5:30-7 p.m. in the Retama Room, on the second floor of the Harvin Center on Heritage Campus.
