Things to know about graduation

It is an exciting time for students with Fall 2019 graduation just around the corner.

Graduation will be held on Friday, Dec. 13, at 7 PM at the American Bank Center. Participants will need to report to Exhibit Hall B, between Selena Auditorium and the arena, by 5:45 PM.

Some students have been going to school for years and finally achieved their goal of graduating. Now it is time to either start working or transfer to a university to continue their education.

“All of our hard work is finally paying off,” said Jose Garcia, music major. “I can’t wait to officially graduate and enter the workforce with my fresh degree.”

Tickets are not required and guests can sit where they want, as seating is not reserved. Graduates can park in Lots 10 and 24, which will be reserved until 5:45 PM. After that time, they will be open to the public.

Guests who do not park in those lots will have to bring money for parking. No purses will be allowed inside other than a small clutch bag with measurements of 4.5” x 6.5” or 6.5” x 4.5”. Guests can also bring American Bank Center approved clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bags that do not exceed 12” x 6” x 12”.

The ceremony will be streamed live, and the page link will be available 15 minutes before the start of the ceremony at delmar.edu.

“I think it’s awesome that it is going to be livestreamed, so that my family from out of town can watch me walk the stage when the time comes,” said Emily Wilson, a future graduate.

DMC is doing everything they can to make the ceremony run smoothly and asks for guest to pay attention to the ceremony guidelines so that it can go off without a hitch. For any questions contact 361-698-1248.
