Intramurals has begun for the 2024 spring semester. In case you missed the registration date for the 150 Mile Bike Challenge, 100 Mile Walk/Run Challenge, or 40K Swim Challenge, there are plenty of upcoming virtual and in-person events to choose from. Popular events from past semesters will make a return such as the Skate Party and Color Run. The Skate Party will be held at Sk8tland on Feb. 22. Be sure to register by Feb. 20.     The Houston Texans have gotten off to a shaky start this season after having playoff aspirations in the preseason. Their troubles have been highlighted by an ongoing quarterback shuffle between Brian Hoyer and Ryan Mallett. Hoyer was the opening day starter, but was benched in favor of Mallett after just three quarters of play. Mallett then started the next four games, but was benched in the second quarter of the Week 5 loss to Indianapolis in favor of Hoyer. As intramurals come to a close this semester, students met during three consecutive days to play the sports Table Tennis, Ultimate Football and Viking of the Court (1 vs. 1 Basketball). Although meeting new people and socializing is a big part of intramural sports there are many other things that it offers.
