An avid reader and budding writer as a child, she combined her passions into a homemade newsletter. Del Mar College was recently named Texas’ Best Community College for Workforce Training by Southern Business & Development for their series “The Best of Economic Development in the American South.” Among the contenders were Galveston College, Lone Star College – The Woodlands, and Tarrant County College – Fort Worth. Business students can obtain their MBA online

Employment of business and financial operations occupations is projected to grow 8 percent by 2024, adding about 632,400 new jobs, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. A bachelor’s degree is required for most of those jobs and Del Mar College has made it easier than ever for students to obtain one, starting with its 100 percent online associate degree in business administration. Festival showcases food, faith, community

The Islamic Society of South Texas held its third annual International Food Festival on Feb. 27 in Corpus Christi. “Our hope is to open ourselves to the larger community,” said Nedal Shheber, Del Mar College instructor of engineering. Shheber has been assisting with the festival since year one and hopes to fight the negative views society has about Islam through the festivities. Del Mar donates teddy bears for the children

DMC’s Early Childhood Club is sponsoring its seventh annual Teddy Bear Drive. Each year the club collects new stu ed animals to donate to the American Red Cross. The stuffed animals are then distributed by the American Red Cross to young children during disaster relief efforts. These stuffed animals are there to give children comfort in one of the most vulnerable times of their lives.
