The Student Government Association has been keeping busy this semester, which is nearing an end.
If you have volunteered for any organization for the Viking Volunteer program you can be acknowledged at graduation for your civic engagement. Anyone who wants to be acknowledged for his or her hard work can go to the Student Leadership & Campus Life office in the Harvin Center. Hours must be turned in and documented by Nov. 15.
The SGA also is promoting an event in the White Library on the East Campus that will count toward the Viking Volunteer program or the National Society of Leadership & Success for volunteer hours. The Student Strategic Planning Committee is putting on the event, which needs 40 student leaders/members. And this event does encourage input from the students to help ensure access and educational excellence to have this go well. You can also request a letter of reference for your input as a student leader.
The semester is almost at an end but the SGA is making itself known by encouraging students to go to events that can help with their resumes as they seek a job. The events also are a great way to meet new people and have the best possible college experience.
Be sure to be on the lookout for the SGA when final-exam season starts because the group will be giving out free Scantron cards and pencils to help students prepare for their exams.
