Loaves and Fishes serves three meals a day and opens its kitchen to anyone who needs it.

Metro Ministries provides temporary housing and services for homeless men and women.

Located off Leopard Street, Metro Ministries provides three meals a day in its Loaves and Fishes program for the homeless, poor, working poor, disabled and elderly.

According to ccmetro.org, a donation of $465 will provide a mother and child a shelter bed for one month.

In order for a person or family to benefit from their care, Metro Ministries has a list of necessary qualifications, including clearing a drug and alcohol test.

As well as three meals a day, Metro Ministries offers dental care, eye care, a health clinic, separate housing for men, and women and children, counseling, social services and employment assistance.

Metro Ministries offers tours and volunteer opportunities, and needs donations, which can be discussed with Chief Executive Officer Patty Clark.

The mininstry accepts donations but especially needs detergent, hygiene products, diapers, infant care items, twin-size bedding, pillows, gloves, knit caps, gently used furniture, household goods and more.

Metro Ministries is located at 1919 Leopard St. To find out more about helping or being a part of Metro Ministries, contact Clark at 361 887-0151 or visit www.ccmetro.org.
