Help offered over Canvas, even on Thanksgiving Day
The Stone Writing Center is giving students a reason to be thankful.
The center will be available throughout the entire Thanksgiving break, from Nov. 25-29.
The SWC will have some consultants working on Thanksgiving Day and they will also be available the Friday after Thanksgiving.
Physical locations are currently closed but students can access the center remotely via Canvas. The Canvas course is available to all students at all times throughout the day.
According to Laurie Jones, of the Stone Writing Center, many consultants are available throughout the day and into the evening and late night.
“The typical turnaround time is 24-48 hours, but during high volume times turnaround time can be up to 72 hours,” Jones said. “We ask that students allow some extra time for a response during the holiday break.”
Students are encouraged to submit their writing as soon as possible so they have time to resubmit their writing if they would like to receive additional feedback.
Students can submit at any time that is convenient for them.
To access SWC online, go to www.delmar.edu/swc and select “online tutoring.” Students will use their Canvas login information to access the Stone Writing Center.
“We offer writing help to Del Mar College students in all disciplines and during all stages of the writing process,” Jones said.
