Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk has purchased Twitter for a whopping $44 billion dollars. There were mixed reactions after the April 26 deal was announced, particularly from those involved on both sides of the political spectrum.  Many Republicans have reacted by praising Musk, while Democrats have been quicker to ask what Musk’s motives in buying Twitter are. Spring 2022 graduates required to fill out forms

Spring graduation is quickly approaching, which means that every student eligible to graduate this spring must fill out a graduation packet. The completed packet is due on Feb. 23. Here are a few things students should know before filling out the packet: Students must apply for graduation whether or not they plan to participate in commencement ceremonies. Students must apply for graduation to have their respective degrees/certificates recognized on their transcript. The graduation application and signed degree audit must be received together-in the same email. The degree audit will need an original signature, not a stamped signature from the adviser.…

‘You’ still as dark as ever

 Netflix recently released Season 3 of its popular original series “You.” The previous two seasons have been filled with twists and turns that kept fans on the edge of their seats.  At the end of Season 2, it seemed as if Joe (reprised by Penn Badgley) had met his counterpart in Love (Victoria Pedretti). Professor writes new book of poetry

Professor and reference librarian Alan Berecka has recently published a collection of poetry called “A Living is Not a Life: A Working Title,” adding to his growing list of works. Berecka, born in Utica, New York, in 1959, spent most of his childhood in neighboring Stittville. After graduating high school, he attended the University of Dallas where he earned his bachelor’s degree in literature. Berecka then attended graduate school at the University of North Texas where he earned his master’s in interdisciplinary studies. Intramurals holding virtual events

Students have several ways to stay active The fall semester is underway, and intramurals have also made a return.  There are several virtual fitness sessions students can join. Activities include Zumba, yoga and the 100 Mile and Steps Challenge. There will be links posted for each activity at https://www.delmar.edu/offices/kinesiology/intramurals.html.  The livestream for Zumba, which began Sept. 12, is led by Coach Perla Soliz.
