Words speak louder than ramblings from a regent

Guy Watts is not favored for his comment about setting a campus aside for “unprepared” students. His comments on Del Mar College’s current mediocre campus encouraged him to speak further, basically requesting the students to accept a label that dictated their intelligence or “preparedness” for higher education. Students don’t pay for college classes to fail them. Some students need more help or need additional assistance outside of class, but that shouldn’t affect the syllabus or the professor’s curriculum. Bank Center to host tango and TV medium

The American Bank Center hosts many events throughout the year, but a few new events may interest Del Mar College students and staff who need a night of entertainment. On Oct. 12, Theresa Caputo, the psychic medium star of “Long Island Medium,” a TLC show, will appear at 7:30 p.m. at the American Bank Center. The television show follows Caputo throughout her life as a wife and mom, as well as her ability to communicate with the dead. Not all angels have wings, so Michelle Jones, the founder and president of MyTeam Triumph: Wings of Texas, provided her son, Charlie, the wings he needed. “My son has cerebral palsy. As I entered Joint Venture, a combination restaurant and head shop on Everhart Road near Ropers, I couldn’t help but notice the laid-back atmosphere. I also couldn’t help but laugh at some of the sandwich names on the menu behind the counter. Names such as Agent Orange and AK 47 made me smile, but I ended up ordering the O.G.
