Not too late to join challenge

Rilwan Sanusi / Reporter With the 100-Mile Challenge in full swing, Intramurals director Ryan Murphy is excited about the number of participants in the challenge. While fewer than 50 took part in the challenge last semester, 36 people have signed up so far for this year’s event, with several weeks left before the Dec. 3 deadline. “The 100-Mile Challenge is an appealing program due to motivating students to reach their goals,” Murphy said. “It keeps them moving beyond their limit and forms a catalyst that leads to a healthier and fitter lifestyle.” Murphy encouraged participants to turn in their log sheets…

Run Amuck gets down and dirty

Local fundraiser brings community together … in mud Amber Quaid / Managing editor Hundreds of people not afraid of getting dirty took part in the Junior League of Corpus Christi’s fourth annual 5K Run Amuck mud run on Sept. 27. The run benefitted the Junior League, which is committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Comeback proves to be a game changer

Gonzalez / Reporter Two shots of Jack Daniels turned out to be too much for the Texans when they fell 16 to 13 in the championship game of the 12-team Viking intramural basketball tournament. Each team stepped up to the challenge to see who would be the last one standing as they competed for the title of the basketball tournament. The tournament took place in the gym for two days starting on Sept. 23. Only three players from every team could play at a time but they could rotate out if substitute players were available.
