FEMA dome construction underway

  Samantha Douty Reporter A few years in the making, construction of FEMA domes has begun in several locations in the Corpus Christi area. There will be FEMA domes placed on the Del Mar College West Campus as well as in Calallen ISD, Tuloso-Midway ISD and Kingsville ISD. According to Lee Sloan, Del Mar’s chief financial officer and vice president of operations, the project is budgeted for $5 million. FEMA is only responsible for $1.8 million but is considering awarding an additional $800,000 because costs have increased dramatically since the dome was proposed. Giving all an equal chance at success is paramount

  Regent Guy Watts believes Del Mar College is swarming with unprepared students and requests they be separated so as to not negatively affect the growth of the so-called best and the brightest. Del Mar College says farewell to Figueroa

  Cynthia Hagerman Reporter   Staff, faculty and administration got together to bid farewell to Del Mar College Provost Fernando Figueroa on Jan. 27 and to honor his accomplishments at the college. Figueroa, who also served as vice president of instruction, left Del Mar on Jan. 30 to start a new job with the Dallas County Community College District. Math lab returns to Coles with new technology, upgrades

    Anastasia Talarantas Reporter   The Math Lab has returned to the Coles Building after being relocated to the White Library since the summer while renovations were underway.
